Sage Green Micro Shaker Cabinets
Sage Green is a muted, warm green — not a mint, not an olive, and nothing close to the avocado everyone's grandmother had. It comes on our micro shaker door, with a narrower frame around the recessed panel, and that combination of a soft historic color on a modern door is what makes it work.

Why Sage Does Not Date the Way Other Greens Do
Because it is a near-neutral. There is enough grey in it that it behaves like a warm taupe with a green cast rather than like a color, which is why it sits comfortably with wood, stone, brass and black all at once. Saturated greens announce a decade. Muted ones do not.

Where Sage Green Works Best
Kitchens with natural wood floors or open shelving, where the green picks up the warmth in the wood. Islands, where it gives a neutral kitchen a quiet point of interest. Pantries and mudrooms. And whole-kitchen applications in bright rooms, where sage functions as a soft neutral across the whole space.
It pairs particularly well with unlacquered brass, which will patina over time and only improves the combination.

Why is it only on the micro shaker door?

The narrower frame is what keeps the color from reading as period-specific. On a wide traditional shaker frame, a sage green tips toward country. On a micro shaker it reads contemporary.
What countertop goes with sage?
