Matte White or Gloss White?

Matte is the safer, quieter choice and suits most kitchens. Gloss is for rooms that need light bounced back into them — small, dark or windowless spaces — and it makes a much stronger statement.

Does a matte finish show marks?

Less than gloss. A matte surface hides fingerprints well; it can show a grease mark if it is left, so wipe spills rather than letting them sit.

How is this different from a white shaker cabinet?

Different construction entirely. This is a flat frameless door with no face frame on the box, which gives more interior space and a modern look. White shaker is a paneled door on a framed cabinet, which reads traditional.
